Re: I dropped it...
OP, I feel your pain.
I already accidentally dropped mine from waist height onto a concrete floor. However, pretty much straight out of the box a screen protector and case go on so absolutely no damage to the phone and a slight scuff to a cheap case. Fine by me. - 10-10-2012, 03:05 PM

I dropped it...
In all honesty not bad at all. The unknowing eye may not recognize it. However I now have testimony about the paint chipping that has been such a hot topic.
It was the classic phone on the lap while exiting vehicle drop. Nothing to major but several nicks resulted all around the edge of the front face. - 10-10-2012, 05:36 PM #12
Re: I dropped it...
Does anyone know of insurers which payout the value of your phone rather than send out refurbished replacement phones?

Re: I dropped it...
This is the 1st iPHONE I put a case on. After hearing about the ease at which the aluminum case scratches I decided to put a case on. Sorry for your accident. Again thank heavens the screen didn't crack.

I dropped it...
I did something similar. The MINUTE I put on my Speck Candyshell case, it slipped on the countertop and straight to the floor. Facepalm.
Luckily I see no damage to the phone itself, just a little scratch in my case. I don't know what would have happened had it been naked - the way it landed could have caused shattering. Yikes!

Re: I dropped it...
I don't really like either of those cases because they look so ugly.
I'd go with a Speck Candyshell

Re: I dropped it...
I dropped mine too, on my birthday few days ago. Had one too many drinks. No screen damage. Just a nick in the corner and a few minor very light scuffs on the bottom back.
Such a sad horrible feeling... - 10-11-2012, 10:02 PM #18
Re: I dropped it...

Sorry to hear about the drop, but glad that the screen is okay! I am thinking about putting mine in an Otterbox Defender for now just for this reason

Re: I dropped it...
Have had a case since Day 1, but just took it off when I realized it was almost impossible to take off due to Zagg shields on both front and back, I decided it had to go--I had to wreck it to get it off, anyway. Got a scratch on the phone near the connector for my troubles, too! At least it's not really visible. Love going naked, but I"m nervous...
The thing is: when we have a case on, are we more likely to drop it?! I think so, but I'll soon find out for sure. At lease the Zaggs are there for scratches.iPhone 5

Re: I dropped it...
LOL... my kind of fail. I was going back upstairs in our somewhat steep staircase the other day, and I lost feet. My phone flew from my hand, smashed on the wall beside me. There's a kind of flat edge there than runs along the stairs, until about two stairs from the bottom, at about a feet high. My phone slided on it all the way downstairs on its screen, then flew about two feets before hitting the tile floor on a corner. I was like, WTF! There's carpet on the stairs, in 99.9% of similar accidents it would have landed on it and stopped there.
40$ for a case and screen was the best investment I made on day one... No scratch or dent whatsoever.
Sorry for you man!
