iPhone 5 vs. iPad 3 benchmarks

I ran the Geekbench 2 that just came out, and here are the results of iPhone 5 vs. iPad 3:

iPhone 5:
overall: 1648
Integer 1256
Floating point 2112
Memory 1876
Stream 944

note it did say the processor was the A6 running at 1.29 GHz!


iPad 3:
overall: 757
Integer 680
Floating point 909
Memory 840
Stream 330

A5X @ 1.00 GHz

My iPhone 5 is much more responsive than my iPad 3. Feels strange going to a larger device that feels a tad more sluggish.

Mine is close to yours but says my processor is only at 1.10GHz. I wish mine was clocked higher but oh well (overall score was 1645)

You might want to run it again a few times and see if you get the same results. I don't know if you read the article about this new Geekbench software update, but the revised version now computes this clock speed differently and the old software said the A6 was 1 GHz. We know that there is definitely not any dynamic clock changing on the A6 SoC (like many laptops have), and you can bet it's speed is the same for all chips. So I would bet dinner this is a discrepancy in the benchmarking software.
