I just went to the mall to get scrubs and decided to see if the apple store had lightening cables. Not only did they have them (i bought 3) but they also had a good number of iphone 5's in both colors. this was at 6pm in new jersey

The apple store here in Lancaster pa had a boat load of tickets left so they def had a bunch of phones at 4pm when I was there

The local Applestore in my area had about 100+ buyers lined up, but I do remember the lines for iP4 and iP4S when I need to go in and buy something at the store it was a madhouse.

The AT&T store I went to had no line at all and 6 phone at 6:00pm on launch day. I think AT&T stores are worth a shot too!

Could it be that Apple finally figured out the supply chain? Also, mass production seemed to have started way to early and that is the reason we saw all the leaks. Anyways OP thanks for letting us know. I'll check my local store.

I searched sc, ga, nc, and ten. I can't say exactly how many I called but I only found one phone out of at least 50 stores in four states.

The AT&T stores, Best Buys, Walmarts, Sams Clubs and Radio Shacks in Atlanta have be useless...i was searching for a buddy of mine who wanted one but didn't pre-order. He called over 20 AT&T's in a 30 mile radius of downtown Atlanta, all of the other stores listed above and was told by all of them but one that they had no stock...and the one AT&T store only had two black 32GB's (he wanted a 16GB).

He walked into the Apple store yesterday (the main one closest to downtown Atlanta at Lenox Mall) and waited maybe 30min. Got the iPhone he wanted and was out with no fuss...(he got there at opening mind you). He said there was probably 100 people lined up when he left though.
