I noticed that all the pictures that have been posted with the dot in them seem to have been taken in the dark with a single, very bright light source in it. Would the dot not just be a reflection of the light off the lens/lens cover? Does the dot appear on the display before you snap the picture? If so, move the camera around and see if the dot moves.

This phone's camera may be the sole reason while I'll drop my Gnex for an iPhone. As a photographer, it's just SO incredibly tempting haha. Some really nice photographs in here

Only added vignette effect in iPhoto for first pic, everything else was left untouched. No edits on the second.
