Black & Slate or White & Silver

black-slate 16 GB since last week

took me about a week to get my hands on one, finally succeeded at Best Buy...would I have wanted a white one, I could have had one the day after launch....it's clear that in my city (Montreal, Canada) black is beautiful....

I had a 16GB black one on launch day, but then I immediately realized I needed more memory I wanted the 64 but those were all gone so I chose a 32 GB one and had to wait a few days for it (AT&T) and its white thats all they had. I just exchanged my black 16 for a white 32 and I really liked the black one but the white is starting to grow on me a bit it looks great in the black otterbox

Yesterday I went to my Verizon store and looked at the iPhone 5. They had both models on display, and I was so impressed with both units. I was however particularly impressed with the black. It looked and felt unbelievable. I already have a buyer set up for my Galaxy III, so I walked out with my beautiful black/slate iPhone 5 with 64 gig!

Can't wait to finally get my white iPhone. I have been waiting for three weeks so far! I have already received my white leather case with lime green interior from Vaja cases. The wait is driving me crazy!

I got a Black/Slate iPhone 5 64GB at Verizon this am. Had ordered an white one online but figured I would try my luck at a Corp. Store and cancelled the online order. I was in luck. They had several black phones in stock. He said usually the black is hard to come by but when they got their shipment in last week, the white ones sold out ASAP. I'm happy with it! Can't believe how light it is!!

White & Silver all the way. It's a nice change for me. All my other iPhones have been black.

I'm going white, need a little light in my phone. Had a black 4S before this.
Really like the white model this year. The aluminum looks nice plus is less likely to chip paint. It just seems sleeker to me.

I have a black but somehow feel colors are actually richer on the white. Is it due to the white frame black screen contrast? Used to wonder if black is boring sometimes. Also all these articles in iMore - they tend to use white for the most and it looks stunning. The cnet iphone 5 review also uses white and wow.. it looks really great there as well. Anybody here who used black previously and now on white iPhone 5 share the same thoughts?

I share the same thought exactly. I have always had a black phone and this is my first white phone. I was very apprehensive at first about purchasing a white phone. But let me tell you what....I love this phone. The color is fabulous and I have no regrets!

I agree, I actually had a black iPhone 5 16GB and I ended up returning it for a 32GB white one because that's all they had at AT&T , at first I was pissed because I loved the black one but now I'm SO happy I went with white, they use ceramic inlays for the white on the back and they only use pigmented glass on the back of the black ones, I feel those are a little cheaper looking. And I totally agree about the color saturation with the white one- coming directly from black to white that was the first thing I noticed, how the colors are so much more vibrant on the white one.

It was scuffed a lot around the edges! But i got my phone my phone swapped for free and i'm gonna put a little protection around it

Pretty much the same other than the scuffs that were noticeable after a week. After time, you stop worrying about it knowing you can swap it out later. The screen is amazing. It's thin, light, good quality, screaming fast. That's what matters. Apple filled in all the boxes all I wanted checked with this one. It's a keeper unlike the 4S which you knew you'd upgrade for LTE.
