Our Verizon rep just called us at the company I work for and told us to get our iPhone 5 order ready to be turned in on Sept. 12 so we can have them on the 21st when they are available.

Your Verizon rep is just trying to save himself some paper work time in the assumption that these dates are firm...makes it easier for him regardless of what the dates are, and it gives him an idea of who's getting one. He knows nothing.
