Consumers are waiting in anticipation of the release date of Apple?s iPhone 5 while rumors about the product keep spreading like wildfire. The latest rumor is stating that Apple gave the release date of June 26th at 5pm. Can this be attributed to April fools or is there some merit to it? Who knows at this stage?

Reports suggest that sales of the iPhone 4 seem to have slowed down considerably as consumers await the availability of the newer model.

Meanwhile, Apple is facing increased competition from the likes of the Verizon HTC Thunderbolt which uses rapid-performing 4G LTE technology.

The downside of the high-performing 4G LTE is that the speed of the connection results in a significant drain of the battery, according to various reports.

Terrible rumor. If a release date is announced in June, it will be June 6th or its not being announced in June.

For the last four summers, Apple has announced an iPhone at it's WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference). To clarify, June 6 is the next WWDC date.

There are articles, and many like it, that came out last Monday (March 25) with a rumor that Apple will likely not announce a new iPhone this summer at WWDC. Time will tell...
