my iphone 4s is frozen with the notification bar halfway down the screen

my iphone froze with the notification bar and my lock button is jammed so i cant restart it, is there anyway i can get it unfrozen without having to wait for it to die?

Maybe connect it to a charger and see if it makes the iPhone react. Connecting it to a computer with iTunes and restoring might fix your issue as well.

You'll probably have to wait for it to die. Even with putting it in dfu mode, you'll need to use your sleep/wake button.

Also, sticking or unreliable hard buttons can sometimes be fixed with a cotton bud and alcohol.
