Is there a way to get the icons on the screen from always auto arranging? I have a picture as my background and I would like to have the icons moved around so I can look at the picture and not the icons all the time

Nope! Most annoying. Of course you can auto arrange the entire device via settings. Failing that you could connect to iTunes and then sort them accordingly easier...

There are a couple of apps that offer "blank" icons so that you can arrange your icons the way you want. If you search in the apps forum, you should find them.

But they will always form a grid, top to bottom, left to right - one can't have two rows of icons at the bottom of a screen without a jailbreak...

I actually remember this from my Blackberry years going back 2, maybe 3 yrs ago. I wasn't aware it was avail for the iPhone either, and I think I may just have to check it out too
