iPhone lockscreen's becoming boring?
Well, this is no offense but since the first iOS release until now, it's iOS6. I see there is not much improvement on the lockscreen. We can see that there are only little change on it, for example notification pop up, camera fast button...
I was hoping something new for lockscreen would come from iOS6 but once again apple made me disappointed. It's really a waste to left the lockscreen nothing but the clock. Don't wanna compare but you know with Android, it's more than a lockscreen but somehow a flipchart where various information is dynamically updated and we don't have to go to specific apps like in iOS.
Are you happy with the lockscreen?

Some people just don't understand the purpose of the lock screen. The lock screen isn't supposed to harbor a whole load of information. It's supposed.. to lock the phone.
When the phone is locked, it's practically off. That way, when you put it in your pocket, you don't accidentally launch apps or email your boss.

I jailbreak for many reasons and this is definitely one, but I wish Apple would at least ALLOW people to use their lockscreens for more than time/date/camera. If they don't want to add to it that's fine, but the option would be nice.

I'm maybe an odd one here, but I like the lockscreen to be as clean as possible. I used Intelliscreen X before, but now I find it to cluttered. So I just swipe up the Intelliscreen, and if I want some information available there, I just swipe it down on the lockscreen. Even I use one tweak called Clock Hide, so the only clock on my lockscreen is the one in the status bar.

according to Intelliborn. So if it was hidden when you locked your device, it's hidden when you next wake it. If it was showing, it will be showing.
(This is actually the feature that eventually got me on the road back to using Lockinfo.)

There are other smartphones that exhibit some of the features on the lockscreen that the OP is asking for. Maybe the OP should try one of those phones. I'm not sure why consumers buy a product and then complain about the product because of features it didn't have at the time of purchase. If you didn't like the phone's lockscreen at the time of purchase and you felt this strongly about it, why did you buy it?

My only question is how long do people stare at the lockscreen or home screen? I look at my windows PC and the lock screen isn't much to write home about. It's locked. Fun times for sure. So i unlock it and get to the desktop. I see a few icons pinned and some random picture that's the background. Again, not much to write home about.
Things get interesting if i launch an app though..

The whole idea of allowing apps and widgets on the lock screen is for quick access to the most important features of the phone. I love being able to directly access email, sms, camera and video right from the lock screen. With one swipe, I'm in. That's without rooting (or jailbreaking).
