Is Dictation something you've taken advantage of?
It just so happens that I'm making this post without using the keyboard, only dictation. I'll admit, it takes a bit of getting used to, but it is doable. I'd like to say that this is being done without editing or correcting of any kind, and I believe that it is very accurate, and it gives you time to speak. Do you take advantage of dictation?
Why, or why not? - 06-29-2012, 06:37 PM #2
Nope. I type just fine without dictation.

Sometimes I just don't feel like typing. So it is pretty good. I've seen people send messages by just saying it, and it looks so smooth when they're in line and don't have time to sit and type.

I've been getting used to taking advantage of the dictation. I haven't perfected it yet but it's getting there so I don't think I'm doing bad considering that I have my phone for just under a month. By the way I posted this entire message without using the keyboard.

I go back and forth with dictation. Sometimes I use it, sometimes not. It depends. Sometimes I find that I end up correcting it more than I would if I had just typed it out.
I want to use dictation and Siri more.

Dictation works perfectly is you talk clearly and use it frequently so that it learns the words and how you say them. I use it everyday to send texts, emails, call contacts, etc.

Dictation is something you have to dip your toes into. I've seen people use it and it looks amazing. And it actually works really really really good. The only thing is, when you first started up it shouldn't take so long because then you forget what you're going to say. You could try doing it sentence by sentence.

When it picks up my accent and puts down the correct words, it's amazing. But it only gets me about 2/3 of the time.

You have to tell it to insert a comma or other special characters. For example, if you want to ask "Where are you going?" you would need to ask "Where are you going question mark" in order for dictation to add the ?.
It's not too hard when you get used to it.

I use it on occasion and like the others have stated, it's amazingly accurate and easy to use.

I've used it to test the feature out but I find that it's just as easy and fast for me to type things out.

Well, I was being pretty serious, I'm not gonna ruin my screen with microscopic Dorito particles all over my screen, so I just dictate messages or searches

It is almost 100% accurate, so I really trust dication. The only thing that stops me is that 4-5 second pause when you activate it. It's enough for me to forget what I'm about to say.
