I just received a pop up on my phone saying that my carrier has to perform an update. I clicked update and my phone went offline for a split second and this popped up. View attachment 14881

Does anyone know what else was changed, and what it was changed for? Also, anyone else get this?! What in the world is 11.3?

I'm use to having GSM iPhones, this is completely new to me.

Mine says Verizon 12.0

Yep. Same here...Verizon 12.0. I did notice in the OP's photo that the iOS version was 5.0.1. Furthermore, I have yet to receive a message from Verizon regarding an update.

From Apple:

iOS: Installing carrier settings updates

I did the update and didn't notice anything change, but I am sure something did. Noticed a few of you had 12.0, but I am 11.3. Maybe because I am still on 5.0.1 until 5.1 is jailbroken to the masses.

Carrier Settings files are basically files the phone's OS uses to determine how to connect to carrier proprietary network services... it may change how a phone will display roaming conditions. For best end-user performance, it's probably a good idea to update when it says there's an update available.

Mine popped up on my phone on Saturday, and i tapped it to update. When that was done, I also did a *228 opt.2 just for the heck of it as well:)

My version also says 11.3, iOS5.0.1, and the PRL stayed the same. If i'm not mistaken I think the version prior ot this update was 11.1....i'm not 100% sure tho as i don't look at this screen too often.

I see a few members here that are on 5.1 with version 12.0, so obviously if you were to upgrade your iOS, i imagine it would upgrade to that version change as well
