Text tones go away when using car charger??

Is this something new? Finally scored an iPhone 4S unlocked. Got it set up and plugged in my car charger. As I was heading home I noticed that I was not getting any sounds when texts came in or emails. When I unplugged it, the sound activated.

Some took it back and they swapped it out for a new one. And this one does the same thing.

This never happened on my previous iPhone 4S. Is this something new in its 5.0.1???

I'd be willing to bet the charger is the culprit!

Apple doesn't make a car charger. So these are third party but they have the works with iPhone certification.

I just find that so odd that this problem did not happen on my previous 4S

Sounds like its car charger related.
have you tried to use a home charger and see if you get the same result?
If not then more testing is needed.

The actual home charger does not do affect the iPhone at all.

have the same problem with my 4s - i think its the charger - if i use the wall charger that came with the phone its fine. if i use the "generic" wall charger with the usb that came with the phone, its fine. third party wall charger, no sounds. same goes for the dock. i have a third party dock, - no sound. my ihome alarm clock - no sound! although the box claims it works with the iPod AND iPhone. I'm going to return the clock today. i had started a thread here asking about the same thing. seems some have problems with it, some don't.
