if i do the auto backup with icloud does it do it as soon as it plug it in...

have wifi on, and click lock (or lock by itself)...i tried but i ended up having to click 'back up now' because nothing happened

It will only do it when locked, on wifi, and on power. So you will never 'see' it happen.

Also, anecdotally, it seems it will only do it once every 24 hours at most.
