Text Messaging with Iphone 4S

Can you change the background color of text messages or the font? Also is there any other customizations you can do with the apple text messaging app? thx

What about just making a text vibrate? I can't figure that one out. This is my first iPhone of any kind.

All you have to do is go into sounds turn vibrate on, and pick your test sound. Then it will sound and vibrate.
