I can't get my iPhone 4 to turn on. It is charged and makes a noise when plugged in. Any ideas

I was trying to text and it seemed like it froze. Would not change screens on cancel text. It make a noise as soon as it it plugged in but I can't get it to turn on.

Welcome to iMore! First try a hard reset.
Hold the top or side power/sleep button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release.

If that doesn't work, you may need to restore your phone as new. Not from a back up. If a restore does not work, then it's hardware related. Maybe a bad battery. Might be time to upgrade or get another phone.
