iPhone 4 back light not working

I have an iphone 4 that went into a lake for about 5-10 seconds. The real head scratcher for me is everything works but the backlight, touch still works. I brought it into apple and the guy was amazed that none of the external or internal water sensors were tripped, and said he saw no water or corrosion or any other evidence it had seen water. I was just wondering if you guys can help in any way. Thanks

Did Apple offer to replace it for a fee? Do you have AppleCare+, Asurion or some other form of insurance coverage for it? Other than trying various drying techniques like placing it in a bowl of rice for a day or two while turned completely off or try repairing it yourself via directions from one of the DIY videos that can be found online, there's not much more you can do except get it replaced.
