Was there a setting on the iphone 4 that automatically saved pictures from texts to camera roll?

Hi guys,

I would really appreciate it if someone could let me know was it ever possible that pictures a person received from texts could automatically save to camera roll without manually saving it? How could that be turned on or off?

"Auto-save" an image received via iMessage to camera roll? Not that I'm aware of.
