I have an opportunity to purchase an iPhone 4 8gig for about $50, but it has a broken screen. I have been thinking about switching from my Galaxy Nexus to an iPhone and thought this might not be a bad way. How much would a new screen run me? Keep in mind I don't want to dump a ton of money into a phone I may not like. I have no idea how much it would cost to fix. No one in my area fixes them and I don't like the idea of sending it to someone I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

You could fix it yourself for like $20. You can get the parts cheap from Amazon or eBay.

I've done 2 iPhone4 screen replacements. The 1st one I did took about 2.5hrs since I went real slow. Just search iPhone 4 DIY screen replacement and the video will come up with written instructions as well. You csn find the screens on eBay for about $20.
