How to only transfer contacts and pics, please?

I'd like to hand down my iPhone 4 to my mom. That said I have apps (all free) that my son plays and I'd like for those to stay. I just need to transfer her contacts and pics from my even older iPhone 3G that she currently uses. Done quite a few searches and only find full backups and restore instructions. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I believe the only way around it is to take the phones to carrier store and have them transfer the contacts, I know Sprint does it and I'm sure Verizon can do it. As far as the pics, do it manually by connecting both phones to a computer and finding pic folder in DCIM folder and transferring them

Both are jailbroken, if that helps, what may I use to transfer them myself?

Just offering that bit of info since I thought it would open up the options. This is something that should be easily accomplished by regular venues but I can't seem to find it.

Since the games are all free, let them go. Sync the old 3GS to iTunes. Then restore the 4 with the 3GS backup. You'll have to download the games again.

Then my son and I would lose all the progress in them. Since my divorce I only see him every other wkd and this is one of the things we do to stay "in touch" as if we were playing together.

Did you try manually copying/pasting pictures from one phone to other like I suggested and having carrier store transfer contacts or are you only looking for a fix you can do at home?

Sync your contacts to Google or some other Cloud service and then sync 'em again to the other phone.

Or just restore everything and overwrite contacts.

The 3G has no data plan currently and the WiFi doesn't work.
I'm copying all the 3G pics to laptop and then trying to paste back up to the iP4. I'd prefer a home solution but if not I'll pass by an ATT store tomorrow.

Copied all 3G pics to laptop.
Deleted files from private/var/mobile/Media/PhotoData/ (only files, leave subfolders)
Deleted private/var/mobile/Media/PhotoData/MISC/DCIM_APPLE.plist
Copied pics from laptop to /private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE
Rebooted twice.
