Default Unable to Tether-How to Fix??

I'm on Optus(Australia) Prepay and they disable the option to tether.
I'm backpacking at the moment so this is very inconvenient.

Is there a way to change the iPhone so that I can enable the tethering options??
    I'm on a factory unlocked iPhone 4 on 5.1ios.

I'm not currently jailbroken but have no problem doing it if it helps.

Any info would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

The 14 days trial version is free... the registered version usually costs 30$. After the 14 days, the free version will start blocking out secure sites.

At least it's what they say in the App description and on JuneFabrics website.

I know MyWi works very well... I read everywhere that PDAnet works very well, too...
