I have arrived!
As you could guess from my username, I am a defector from blackberry, having used them on and off for 4 years.
I have an iPhone 4 on its way!
I was wondering if you guys can recommend the best apps and any other general tips, anything to make my experience as good as possible.
Thanks for reading

8. TuneIn Radio
As for general tips... I suggest reading through these forums... tons of helpful info! And then if you have specific questions try searching before creating a new post.

Welcome, but since we don't know anything about you no one but you will know what apps will be best for you. There are plenty of threads with "Top 5" type lists in them; I suggest searching the forum for some good reading material. Enjoy the new phone—it will probably change everything!

Welcome and congrats on your move. I came from BB with a 7 month stint on Android (Droid X) before settling in with the iPhone a year ago.
Some of my favorite/most used apps are:
The Weather Channel
Alarm Clock HD
I'd also recommend getting a case for protection.

Apps depend on what you're gonna use your phone for. If you're into music, there's Pandora, iHeart, Sirius/XM. If sports is your thing, there's tons.
You can search in the iOS app library by category, so just search.
Jailbreaking may be an option for you as well to customize your iPhone how you like it. Mine is jailbroken and I've tweaked a lot.

I just defected too!! :O BB user for 5 years and never thought I'd switch...but I've been really happy the past 2 weeks and the keyboard has not taken long at all to get used too!!
I got the 4 also as I have no need for Siri!! lol
Built in screenshot feature is neat...loving the camera!...not sure about jailbreaking yet but at least rearranging my screens has helped get over my 'bb theme fix'!
So far I love:
The Weather Channel
Keeper (password storage)
...and I have 3 protective cases!!

Congrats! I'm a defecting returner I guess... (?). I had a 3GS and then everyone around me started getting BlackBerrys, and I felt I was missing out with the whole Messenger and all, had a 9300 then 9800 then 9900, recently started missing the iPhone bad and remembering all the apps i had, so got a 4 and signed in to App Store and there all my old apps were! Dont get me wrong I loved BB (my username is from Mobile Nations CrackBerry forums), but kinda regret getting rid of the 3GS now, couldve traded it for money off the 4. Siri for me is interesting but not something I'd use so I'm happy with the 4. Anyway didnt mean to hijack thread.
+1 for WhatsApp, it's available on BB so if you have any old messenger contacts you wanna keep IMing get them to get it, I did.
Games-wise Draw Something is great!
