I am using the headphones that came with my iPhone and this morning only the one side is working, I have checked that mono audio is off but only the one side is working

Try a different pair of headphones. If they work then it's the headphones. If they don't then take the phone to apple.

You can also try restoring the phone and setting it up as a new phone, not from a back up

And like was previously suggested, if the problem occurs with new/better headphones, take the iPhone to Apple. I doubt it will, though.

Apple makes some great devices, sadly headphones isn't one of those devices.
