Bookmark to home screen

Is there a way to move/copy a bookmark to the home screen without visiting the page.

Not without opening it in Safari first as far as I know.

No, you will need to open bookmarks in safari first before you can edit or move them anywhere. However, you can move a bookmark that you created on your homescreen around by tapping and holding it until the icon wiggles. Then move it to a location of your choice.
