    Default New carrier setting

Not sure if this has been mentioned already or how new it is but there is a new vzw carrier setting if you go to general and about. If it's old news, please delete this topic.

Woke up this morning to the message about the carrier update. Clicked "yes" and....nothing. So far I've not seen a change of any kind. Not sure what to make of it....misfire?

So - what does the update do?

The carrier settings file contains network set-up information that can be thought of like a hosts file on a computer... default addresses for things your phone does in the background and also controls how your phone behaves when it's "roaming" and not on a native Verizon data network - permissions, etc.

Carrier settings can change as Verizon's data roaming agreements change, as well as when they are streamlining their own network - just like PRLs...

Jailbreak unaffected by carrier settings updates.

On my iPad 2 with iOS 5, it has Verizon baseband 10.2.2. Wonder if it's different on the iPhone.
