Hey all, I have a basic question about the iPhone 4. What kind of processor does it have and how powerful is it? If possible, can anyone compare it to the processor of the Motorola Droid 2 in terms of power. Thanks!

In terms of just strait clock speed I think the droid 2 has a 1.2ghz processor and the iPhone 4 is a 1ghz processor under clocked to 900mhz. Far as smoothness I think the iPhone 4 runs smoother than most droids out there. But that's just my opinion.

Now be begin the age old argument of "I don't need a big chip if my OS is more stable"

The Droid 2 has a Texas Instruments OMAP 3630 CPU clocked at 1GHZ.

The iPhone 4 runs Samsung Electronics (see how its funny how they're suing the pants of them right now!?) A4 chipset clocked at 1GHZ.

They both have different GPU's though. And the Droid 2's is a generation older using the PowerVR SGX530 GPU

VS.

Apples PowerVR SGX535 GPU

So there ya have it.

That was really helpful. So basically the droid 2 is just a step back in how new the technology is. That was helpful.

BRAND new technology, as in the new smart phones out there, are now dual core, 3D image producing powerhouses.

Seeing that the Droid 2 was introduced a little over a year ago, yes, it is a step back compared to current tech.
