No one but Apple really knows the answer to that. There was a rumor floating around these forums somewhere, but I don't recall the specifics...

A rep at Verizon told me a few weeks back that he got an email saying that we are suppose to get the update in July. We'll see what happens.

Does anybody know the reason why Apple leave the Verizon IP4 out of the picture with their updates? The Verizon IP4 is always behind in these updates.

The Verizon iPhones got free hotspot in iOS 5 and tethering before AT&T iPhone 4. Plus, there is not really death grip on the Verizon iPhone 4. Those are the advantages of having the Verizon iPhone 4. But iOS 5 is already made for the Verizon iPhone 4 so it should have the iOS 5 update this fall like Steve Jobs mentioned.
