    Default Contact linking

I noticed the other day that my friend's Verizon iPhone let's him link contacts in the contact editing screen. For some reason that option does not come up with my ATT iPhone. Is this really a difference amongst providers or a setting I have to turn on? Thanks!

I see that option when I edit a contact on my AT&T iPhone.

Do you have an exchange based account that syncs contacts to? I think this might have to do with that.

I do too, so that can't be it. So I don't know whether it's the OS version or what?

I just got home and checked my wife's iPhone and hers doesn't have this option either. What do you think could be the problem here?

I first noticed it on mine when I started to use MobileMe to sync my contacts. Though it really doesn't seem to do anything for me. My understanding is its so you can link a MobileMe contact and say an exchange contact when using both services?
