The craziest thing I've ever seen expensed or attempt
was $250 fine for bail money. Followed by a bar receipt and
a hand written apology for losing large client due to "public
fornication" with their VP's assistant leading to an arrest.

Brushes

We had to order some brushes to work on an experiment we were running. The brushes had a diameter of 3 mm. They were only about 5 inches long. Overall they were tiny. They came in a 5 pack. Total cost to the lab: $100.

Craziest expense report

I have certainly had my share of bizare expense reports. However for one project I had to expense the following:

25 gallons whip cream - whipped not liquid.
12 gallon cans of Applesauce
6 gallon cans of vanilla pudding
6 gallon cans of chocolate pudding
4 pints assorted food colors
10 pounds oatmeal
144 Non-lubricated condoms

Needless to say my Controller had a few questions.

In my small college I work for the IT department, and on the way to take the van to the recycling, I asked permission to expense gas on their card. This was a year ago; after the fill up, I bought a $60 Klipsch speaker set and receiver from the Goodwill next door because I didn't have my own card with me. No one ever noticed!
