Help! I cant restore my iPhone

I jailbroke my iphone when it had OS version 4.2.1. I want to restore it, but it tries to force me to update to 4.3.1, but then says my device is "ineligible for the current build". Is there a way to restore it with the old software, then update it after restoring it?

I just went through this problem last night. Since your gonna be updating it anyways why not just update it now? Anyways try this. Make another user account on the computer. Go to the new user account and download the software on that account. That's what got rid of that error for me. You might get error 1013 after the process starts, and when the phone is on the connect to iTunes screen. No big deal google how to fix iTunes error 1013. All you have to do is edit the host file.
