My wife can't access her email on her computer when IPhone is on. Both are set to fetch email from a POP 3 server. Whenever she opens up Outlook on her PC she gets a message that another device is accessing her email account and she needs to wait until it disconnects. The computer is running Windows 7. It is as though the her phone does not disconnect from the server after checking her account for messages. As soon as she shuts of the phone she can get her email? Is there a setting on the phone that I have wrong? I have an IPhone also, different computer running Windows XP and no problem for me.

Try changing the settings from fetch to manual to see if that will get it to disconnect.

Are you both checking the same POP3 server?

Thanks for the reply. I will try that. We are on the same email server. Interestingly enough it does not seem to happen all the time but never happened before we got her the IPhone.

I also think you should change the fetch settings. When she checks email on the phone do the messages still show up in outlook? If either the phone or outlook ar taking the messages off the srever it might be causing the link. When I say taking the messages off the server I mean when you check from the phone the messages don't show up in outlook. Also she doesn't need to power off the phone if it continues to happen just put the phone in Airplane Mode in Settings. This will kill all data connections on the phone. Then turn it back on when you're done checking emails on the PC.
