    Default Pocket Lint

Probably a dumb question but .... can lint get into these phones and cause problems, I have this OCD thing about lint in my pocket where I keep my phone.

I use a apple bumper / no case....

Are they pretty much sealed up ?

    Thanks

Pocket lint may get under the bumper, if anything, but not in the phone itself. I wouldn't see it as to much of an issue.

I get lint inside the charging port of mine occasionally, but you can usually just blow it out. Compressed air works too. I've gotten little bits in the speaker grill, but doesn't clog it. Just use your fingernail to get it out.

I always get a little lint in my speaker grill. Annoying but not hard to remove.

I forgot about under the display. My 3GS got one big piece of dust or lint under the screen. Used to drive me crazy!

Some will get into the headphone jack, dock connector, and speaker/mic grills but as others said it blows out pretty easy; even with just lung power.

I have never had an issue with it getting into the speaker grill or any other holes. As stated, it's not that hard to get out either.

Lint? Hmm, I never noticed. I just prefer to keep the bezel clean. Every now and then I'll clean up the speakers.

This is actually a legitimate question . . not "dumb" at all. I come from a couple years of using Blackberry Storms (1 and 2). Lint, dust, you name it, got under those screens because they were not "sealed". The "surepress screen" was a floating piece of glass with a gap around the edges . . . the lint under the screen drove me nuts and it couldn't be removed . . another great design by RIM !

The best way to keep lint from your pockets is to wash your pants with the pockets inside out. I do and never had an issue with lint.

My iPhone goes in a little form-fitting zippered case, so no lint here.

i work in a warehouse, and its dustier then crap in there. my 30 pin connector is nothing but dust. not good i know, but it doesnt effect anything. also no dust under the scree.n. i believe the iphone 4s screen is built differently and theres no gap in the screen for there to be dust/lint under the screen. shouldnt be a problem, if you get lint anywhere, just pull it out, it has happened to me before with the 30 pin connector

Laundry tips and all this good advice. I am so grateful that I switched to Apple after coming over from the dark side of Blackberry. I get the best advice here. I really mean it.
