Is there any way to add a special field to the contacts on the iPhone

my dad uses his phone for his job and need to have additional information in them besides in the notes section since its so easy to type and add incorrect information to it.

or is there any way to lock the notes section for being edited without having to hit the edit button

If you are editing a contact, you see they only have a work email and a work phone. Simply click on the type of email or type of phone and you get a whole list of types to pick from and you can create more, ie dorm phone or military email.

BTW, I took a look at add field. It appears there are about a dozen predefined fields you can add. I like putting misc stuff in comments. If you have a Mac, you can create "smart groups" by searching for that stuff. It's better than categories was on PalmOS.
