My Issue of The Day

it seems everyday its a different thing

Email: I have my accounts set to push, everything worked great up till today.

I dont receive emails unless I open the mail app , I tested this and it only pulls the email down if I open the mail app , If it on the home screen I get nothing.

I love iPhone but they are QUIRKY it seems to always be something.

Any Ideas

Update :

I tested further and it is only happening on my yahoo account.

My Gmail account pushes right away.

I have my gmail account set up as exchange and my yahoo is not.

Can I set up Yahoo as a exchange account as well.

Would it be m.yahoo.com for the server field ?

Right now I have it set to SMTP for the server, it worked great till today

You can't setup Yahoo as exchange. Yahoo PUSH always has problems. It's not really an
iPhone problem. It's a Yahoo server problem. Used to happen to me all the time until I
finally just used Gmail.

The issue is sporadic, I assume its traffic related.

Why is it that its always something ?

Someday it will all gel together, when the moons and gods align.

Another issue Im having is on my facebook app I dont always get notifications, I assume this is a facebook issue and not a iphone issue ?

Does anyone else experience this

Yeah, the Yahoo thing has always been sporadic in my experience.

The FB notification thing is also a hit or miss issue. Honestly, I tried it when it
first came out and hated the hit or miss notifications. That same day I just
went back to using Gmail for FB notifications. And when you don't get notifications
through email, then it is indeed a Facebook issue.

Yahoo's native push abilities have been flakey since 2007 when the iPhone first came. I don't think it's going to get better any time if it hasn't yet. Same goes for the Facebook app.

Gmail and Hotmail both provide Exchange setup for free.

Facebook App has always been a FAIL and you can see there is little to no effort put in to it. The cop out is they say use the browser, I mean they wont even do an app for the iPad.

Thats crazy, I am new to facebook and wondered if I had an old version of the facebook app. Its terrible !

Guess Ill use the browser.

Does Skype video use a lot of data, probably a dumb question but wasnt sure.

anything with video is going to use more bandwidth.
