Pre-orders start the 3rd... if you don't have the means of paying then, it might be possible to bill to your account if qualified - otherwise, you'll need some sort of payment when you pre-order, be it the 3rd - or whenever before the 10th.

But if you don't on the 3rd the chances of getting one are not good I'd imagine.

Once the initial pre-order quantity, whatever it is, is "spoken for" - orders continue on a back-order list, and are shipped "first on the list, first out the door" as physical stock is available- so one can "pre-order" through Feb 9th and get an approximate shipping date if there's a back-order going on.

Or you can take your chances camping out at Verizon/Apple corporate stores :)

3AM at my computer sounds so much better than 7pm-7am on the concrete waiting outside a store!

Visual Voicemail is standard on the iPhone. iPhone voicemail is set up differently in the carrier's system which is why you lose your messages. Think of it like this, if you use Youmail for your VM for all of 2009 and then started using Google Voice for 2010, Google voice would not be able to import all those voicemail messages you got with youmail. The only difference in this case is that you would be gonig from regular voicemail to visual. That's just the way it is with this phone and it's not VZW's fault or issue.

But don't you agree that Verizon gave WRONG information in this email they sent:
If your device is Verizon Wireless Visual Voice Mail capable, please follow these steps to Save a Copy:

1) Subscribe if you have not already done so ($2.99/month).
2) Open Visual Voice Mail >>> Select the Message Menu >>> Options >>> Save A Copy/Archive >>> Save to SD Card or External Memory
