Can you kill a downloading app that has stalled?

Hi.

A couple of times, I have tried to download a couple of apps from App Store, and the first one has stalled for some reason, holding up the download of the second one.

When you hold down the home key until the app icons wiggle, and the crosses appear - they only appear for installed apps?

Basically, can you kill a downloading app that has stalled?

Switch Airplane mode on, all downloads will fail and you will get a notification saying something like 'download will be available on itunes' you can then try the app again.

No problem. Only found it by accident. Was trying to update a few apps at work but forgot we have a 20mb download limit so they froze. Tried everything and Airplane mode gave me the answer!

Killing frozen download

So, I read your reply about turning on Airplane mode to release a frozen or Waiting download app/icon. How long does this take? Do I need to reboot my phone for the release to take place?

Also, is there a Trash app that one can get to drag forozen icons to to accomplish the same thing or to remove working installed apps, etc.
