Album art

I recently added new music to my iphone 3g. Itunes couldn't find album art for some of these songs so I went ahead and added the album covers to the songs. I noticed, however, that the album art only shows on my iphone when it is sideways (landscape). When it is straight up and down, it only shows the grey screen with the music note. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Make sure that the album art is the same on ALL songs within an album in iTunes, this happened to me on a few albums and it turned out that a couple of the songs within the album didn't have the cover art applied properly, after i applied it, everything was great again...
