After several years and lots of use, I plugged my iPhone 2 g in to charge from a dead battery and after 36 hours I got NOTHING. I have plugged my iPod touch in to the same power cord and gotten juice. Any sugestions besides the obvious of upgrading to iPhone 4.
Thanks in advance.

I say upgrade to the iPhone 4. Also buy a battery to replace your current iPhone then either sell it or keep it.

Yeah I agree you might just need new batteries.
In case you're planning on buying a new phone,
you might want to know that, Batteries wear
down the quickest and it is better to replace
them once you feel you aren't getting the same
juice anymore. Faulty batteries can significantly
shorten your phone's life span.

As most everyone has stated, probably the battery. Remember when the first iPhone came
out and there was all that talk of how many charges it could take? I think you've gone past
the limit :p

Under normal use, batteries in phones and laptops show some lost juice after 1 to 1,5 years of use. If the time on battery drops below 50% it is a matter of weeks till the battery is completely dead.
