will an unlocked iphone work on the tracphone network?

No.
Tracphone is CDMA.
iPhone is GSM. GSM requires a SIM card while CDMA activation is done on the phone.
The only networks iPhone will work on in the USA are AT&T and T-Mobile, and 3G data speeds won't work on T-Mobile.

oh okay cuz like my moto has a sim card and its a tracfone, so i didn't know

I am also attempting to make my jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 3 "recognize" my Tracphone SIM card. I read this article online: How to Make Tracfone SIM Card Work in iPhone | eHow.com Is the author not correct?
