My question here is whether Stuart Hughes is actually a successful business. If it is, good for him. He's realized a valuable lesson- that when you sell to the luxury market, your margins are higher and you get the pleasure of a high-end brand association. Plus you get to have fun making the world's most ridiculous/awesome phone.
