Iphone 4 stuck in recovery mode

so here's the whole story: I sold my iPhone 3gs a couple of months ago. I just bought the iPhone 4 yesterday and everything was working fine until I backup everything from my 3gs to my iphone 4. I got a new number but the iphone is showing my old number. I tried to update to 4.1 but it wouldnt let me for some reason and now its stuck in recovery mode. Please Help.

To knock it out of recovery mode, use TinyUmbrella or iRecovery.
