The biggest thing I was hoping for in 4.1 was a fix for the white balance issue me and some others have had.

In particular, photos I take in artificial light on my iPhone 4 come out with a yellow tint to them.

Here is a picture I took using 4.02:

Very yellow!

After updating to 4.1 today, I took a similar picture, obviously in the same lighting in my office (tough work day :p):

Better, but still off.

Anyone else getting similar results?

Took another pic using HDR. Since the phone saves both pictures this is easy to compare. Results below:

NON HDR:

Still a little blue in the center. There's also a purple tint on the left side.

Those pictures considering they are coming from a smartphone are absolutely amazing!!! Very mild tints of the blue and purple as mentioned but I think thats just being nit-picky anyway

It's not "nit-picky" as you call it when the previous iteration of the phone with a worse camera, didn't have the problem.

Well now that we know that 4.1 corrected the autobalance to an extent, you have two choices. Either return the iPhone and get a new one or wait until 4.2. I'd wait considering that 4.2 isn't too far away.

Buy a 'camera' that takes RAW then and change WB later. Jesus, the iPhone may be good, but it ain't DSLR......yet :)

One thing I have noticed since I updated from iOS v4.02 to v4.1 is that I get "ripples" on my screen when I am taking a picture under florescent lights. I can appreciate this is probably due to the 50Hz mains supply here in the UK, put I never noticed it before. The final photo seems clear of it, although I have not tested it too much yet.

Pics look great btw!

The point of this post wasn't to show off nice pics, it was to show off how bad they look in low light. There seems to be more compliments on how nice the pictures are than people agreeing that something is wrong with them. Are our standards just low?

The extreme yellow shots are gone as of 4.1 for me, however the green spot is still there... Apple really needs to fix that.
