Reboot deleted apps

Sorry if I missed a prior thread, but I've searched multiple forums first and find nothing.

I performed a hard reboot the other day and lost ALL of my dl'd apps. All of my email, contact and calendar entries were fine....just apps. Has anyone else had this happen and is it something I should be worried about in the future or just a random incident? I'm currently on iP4 running iOS 4.0.1.

That shouldnt happen. At least for a non jailbroken iPhone.

At least there a sync a way from iTunes. Right?
