Where are all the emails??

I have my iPhone 4 set up for Mobile Me, Gmail and Hotmail. In all accounts, my deleted items are empty, sent items the same, however as the screen shot shows, the phone thinks there are 1051 messages somewhere when loading?? Anyone else seeing this as well? Is there a fix? It does not affect the function of the Mail app, just more of an annoyance.

Are your messages older than 3 days? I ask because
in Gmail (when set up as exchange), mail is synced
up to 3 days by default. If it is the case, go to the
mail account as though you're going to delete it and
change it to "no limit".

If that doesn't work or if that's not the case, delete
the account and re-add.
