Hd Movies?

I read somewhere that some one had coverted a HD version of Avatar and put it on their iPhone 4. My question is what are the maximum settings this phone can handle? What is the best format? And what is the best way to do this? I really want to test out this screen and push its capabilities as far as possible.

I've heard that the iPhone 4 can view 1080p videos, but I'm not sure. I am sure however that it CAN view 720p videos.

I'd imagine anything from iTunes HD will be shrunk down to 1280x720 regardless, because 1080p would be way past useless on a screen of that size and resolution.

They may even shrink to some kind of 640p, because the maximum height you'll be viewing videos at is 640px.

Any other suggestions on how? Specifically what settings to use in a convertor? What format? Mp4 h264?
