I have downloaded and installed iTunes 9.2, no problems.
When I connect my iPod and check for an update, I get the message: " The version of the iPod software (3.1.3) is the current version."
I have checked the requirements for the iOS4 upgrade, and I believe that I should be able to update.
My iPods specs are:
3g
Capacity: 32GB
Model: MB376C
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Problem resolved.

I found and resolved the problem.
When I bought the iPod, I was given a 16GB Gen 1 model (due to shortages in the store), with instructions to come back a week later to get the 32GB model I wanted. However, they gave a new 32GB Gen 1 version 2 model.
Hence, i was unable to upgrade.
BTW, this "Gen 1 Version 2" model was produced in very low numbers, since Gen2 models were soon to be available.
