Quit Multitask App?

Just got the iPhone 4 up and running last night without a hitch - REALLY thrilled Pandora can play in the background now!

However, does anyone have any insight into how such an app is most appropriately closed? If I simply pause Pandora the phone still manages the thread - is this an issue for battery life etc.? Alternatively, I can close the Pandora thread, which seems to quit the app - but it seems a little odd to have to do so in that manner.

Any thoughts?

PS - no issues with reception etc. over here - knock on wood.

Hold HOME down, to get the apps that are running up in lower bar.
then hold any of the icons, and they all get a red minus sign and let you click on those you wanna close down

When you pause Pandora, it is no longer using the background audio API and is not actually running in the background. It is just a suspended state app frozen in memory, which means it uses no CPU cycles and has little (if any) impact on the battery life.
