Quit Multitask App?

Just got the iPhone 4 up and running last night without a hitch - REALLY thrilled Pandora can play in the background now! :D

However, does anyone have any insight into how such an app is most appropriately closed? If I simply pause Pandora the phone still manages the thread - is this an issue for battery life etc.? Alternatively, I can close the Pandora thread, which seems to quit the app - but it seems a little odd to have to do so in that manner.

Any thoughts?

PS - no issues with reception etc. over here - knock on wood.

Hold HOME down, to get the apps that are running up in lower bar.
then hold any of the icons, and they all get a red minus sign and let you click on those you wanna close down :)

When you pause Pandora, it is no longer using the background audio API and is not actually running in the background. It is just a suspended state app frozen in memory, which means it uses no CPU cycles and has little (if any) impact on the battery life.
