if the signal gets fixed I will be very happy. hate that I cant use it as a phone.. the data is ok as I use wifi in most places. called apple and they said a patch will be out soon. hope it fixes it..

Aren't you being a bit dramatic? The phone's reception is much better for me.

Another person that lives in an area with a good signal, that just refuses to believe that this is an issue for anyone!

Never said it wasn't an issue. But to say you can't use the phone?

Besides, if you don't live in an area with good signal then why would you choose AT&T?

I played with my co-workers iPhone 4 for most of the day today. He was VERY nice and let me tote it around, almost as if it were mine. He knew I was on the fence. I am now going to line up at 6AM at my local ATT store (its actually RIGHT under where I live, I live in a building complex with shops underneath). I cant wait to have my own. I really wanted to test out Facetime but the boss turned off wifi to the building as a punishment for a co-worker watching a porno.

Well considering this issue with the iPhone one can have an acceptable signal that pretty much turns to crap, well that is unless they hold their phone in a certain way. This issue really impacts those in fringe areas much worse than those with a rock solid signal.

Believe it or not there are some places that aren't over-run with cell towers and given the choice between no service and a lower signal service with AT&T, which would you pick?

Not all of us can have cell towers in our neighborhoods. The point is that some users were able to use their 3GS or 3G iPhones just fine in these same areas prior to the iOS4 update and or their purchase of an iPhone 4.

Love my phone so far. In fact, I feel that the speakerphone is much clearer. Just want Power Support USA to release their screen protectors already!

I love it. The only thing is that the proximity sensor doesn't react as well causing me to push the on call features with my cheek alot.

A nice surprise for me is that I've noticed that the back of my iPhone4 isn't showing fingerprint smudges like I expected: it's very minimal compared to the back of the my 3GS which always looked yucky. Does the back glass have the oil resistant coating as well as the front?

The battery life is improved over my 3GS. My usage time was 4 hours and 45 minutes when run down to 20% vs 3 hours and 30 minutes on the 3GS. I've kept the settings the same on both phones. This is a very nice improvement, but I haven't seen the amazing results that some have reported.

I love the way that IP4 feels in my hand: it's such a nice, high quality, feel.

Multitasking is great: I have to keep reminding myself that's it's available and to double click the home button. :)

I'm so glad to have a better camera with HD video in this phone: much better pictures.

The screen is wonderful. I think that I would have upgraded if the retina display had been the only improvement (well, maybe not, but this display is terrific). Having easily changeable backgrounds without jailbreaking and using winterboard is nice: the backgrounds dress up the display nicely.

I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, so I've had no reception issues. I remember when I got my 3G in 2008, I would have 5 bars while driving down a road, pull into a parking lot and get "no service", pull back out onto the road and get 5 bars. At that time, 3G reception in the Apple Store in my area was awful. AT&T fixed things and now 3G has been good here, generally. Of course, their corporate headquarters is here, now. :) I was in Durant, OK on Saturday, which has no AT&T 3G, and it was maddening. I saw a lot of 3G iPhones there, but it would drive me crazy to be on EDGE all of the time.

Anyway, I digress. I love my iPhone4!
