iOS4 upgrade while roaming internationally

Hi,

Im currently outside the US. Dos anyone have tried, or know of someone who has, to upgrade while being away?

What Ive read so far is that I need to turn WiFi off so the upgrade process can recognize the SIM card, and here is where the question comes from.

You will have to use a computer with iTunes to get the upgrade. You will lose all the media on the phone until you resync with you own iTunes. You can't upgrade over the air, it would be like changing you car engine at 60mph.

Thank indeed for your help. Even though I have a computer, and connection, and all that, the question was focused at ATT recognizing my SIM card from abroad. Would you know if itd work?

I dont want to get home and find out I have no service.

It doesn't matter where you are, when you put yours in the network will know who you are. That's how you can roam and AT&T will bill you.
