Apple store swap?

With the new iPhone lineup what would be the warranty exchange process at an Apple store if I needed my white 16GB 3GS swapped? As I believe they are no longer creating this model.

They will still have replacements.
If you didn't buy AppleCare, then you'd need to get your warranty exchange before your year warranty is up.

My warranty is good well into next year. Is it standard practice for the stores to carry these models as they become discontinued that long after its life cycle?

The apple store will have some in stock of the refurbs for a while or they will order you a refurb from warehouse so long your warranty is good

The warranty and/or apple care will be your saving grace. You should be just fine.

My iphone has a little crack (3GS). Can I go to the Apple store have them normally replace it, but then pay them say 200 Dollars to get the iPhone 4? SO an upgrade of sorts?

That all depends on your upgrade options with your carrier.

I bought it contract free. Using Prepaid.

And yes, that is the best option for me before anybody asks

The phone is a lot more expensive than 200. I doubt you'll be able to do that without an upgrade option from AT&T. Let us know what you find out
